EKITI STUDENT NATIONAL LEADERSHIP STORMS POLY-IBADAN CHAPTER


The National Leadership of the Federation of Ekiti State Students' Union (FESSU) led by Aare Akomolafe 'Jide-Petkoff (Aare Of Peace) has reiterated its commitment to improving the general welfare of Ekiti Students at the occasion of the Iyan Day 2018 celebration organized by The Polythenic, Ibadan Chapter of the Union.

At the event was the National Leadership entourage led by the National President in person of Aare Akomolafe 'Jide-Petkoff, the National Secretary in person Comr. Idowu Ebenezer, National Public Relations Officer in person of Comr. Salau Idris , National Director of Welfare in person of Comr. Abe Olatundun and the President of Federation of Ekiti State Students' Union, University of Ibadan Chapter in person of Comr. Ogunsuyi Emmanuel. Also in the National President's entourage was the OAU Secretary of Federation of Ibadan Students' Union in person of Comr. Mutiu Babatunde and Comr. Ajani Kayode the AGS of Federation of Ibadan Students' Union, OAU chapter.

In the speech delivered by the National President of the Federation of Ekiti State Students Union, he commended the Leadership of The Polytechnic Ibadan Chapter of the union for the continued improvement and sustainability of incentives for members of the chapters as he acknowledged that the positive effects of the incentives could certainly not be disconnected from the impressive turnout at the event.

He also charged Ekiti students on the need to be more committed to the union and see themselves as one, with the full knowledge that there are a lot of benefits for them as members of the union.

The president also spoke on the need for a consultative tour in order to broker a robust relationship and to expand the increasingly effective network between the national leadership and the entirety of Ekiti Students. The initiative is intended first to get adequate feedback on students needs and ideas in order to aggregate all interests which would be the basis for demands made to the State Government. This would ensure that students would indeed be carried along appropriately in the decision making process and it's implementation. Stating more reasons for the consultative tours, the National President eloquently stated, *"The tours become exigent in order to ensure a concrete connection between the national leadership and all local chapters; moreover, this tour shall not only ensure familiarization, but also allow the national leadership of F.E.S.S.U to be conscious of the challenges rocking our chapters so as to seek and proffer a long lasting solution to them."*

The National leadership also reiterated its commitment to fulfilling its manifesto adequately and in its entirety for the progress of the union.

A cross section of students interviewed expressed their opinions about the event, they included Ojo Oluwaseun an indigene from Ijero Local Government. He commended the tenacity of the outgoing executives and also sought for more awareness in order for Ekiti Student's to be more Informed about the activities of the union.
Ogunleye Emmanuel from Moba Local Government also opined that the program will ensure further projection of the union within the institution and beyond.
Ayodeji Damilola from Ido Osi Local Government Area of the state implored all members to be proactive and also ensure they attend the congress of the union at regular intervals.
